Blackswan was established in 2009 by Marcus Hawley, a property specialist who gained experience as a Development Surveyor and Manager on prestigious projects totalling some £150m, including The Rotunda, and The Cincinnati Factory in Birmingham. Offering high quality advice and a range of services to local authorities, housing associations and property investors, Blackswan’s reputation quickly grew and so did the business, in size, scale and scope, gaining the trust of investors internationally as the go-to PRS and mixed-use property developer in the Midlands. By breaking ground on our first site – Gilders Yard – in 2017, we embarked on an exciting new direction.
The cornerstones of our success include empathetic high-quality design and a bespoke approach. We’ve also earned a reputation for working in conservation areas and with listed buildings, sensitively restoring properties while adding value to investors, people and communities. Our aim is to become a leading UK mixed-use development company, specialising in innovative development solutions.
